Payments, Taxes & Duties

Cardinal Milano provides secure payment methods and transparent final pricing for all destinations available in the shipping-country selector at checkout.

Accepted Payment Methods

Cardinal Milano currently accepts:

  • Visa;
  • Mastercard;
  • American Express;
  • Apple Pay, when available on the client’s device and browser;
  • Google Pay, when available on the client’s device and browser;
  • bank transfer.

PayPal is not accepted.

The payment methods displayed at checkout may vary according to the client’s device, browser, billing details and the technical availability of the relevant payment service.

Card and Digital-Wallet Payments

For payments made by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, the full order amount is charged when the order is placed at checkout.

By submitting the order, the client authorises the immediate collection of the amount shown in the final order summary.

Cardinal Milano may perform payment, security and anti-fraud checks before accepting or dispatching an order. If the payment is declined, cannot be verified or is identified as potentially unauthorised, the order may not be accepted or may be cancelled.

Bank Transfer

Bank transfer is available as a payment method.

The client must send evidence of the completed bank transfer to customercare@cardinalmilano.com within 48 hours of placing the order.

The payment reference should include the order number and the name used for the purchase.

The order remains pending until Cardinal Milano receives and verifies the transfer. Dispatch will take place only after the funds have been credited and the order has been confirmed.

If evidence of payment is not received within 48 hours, or if the transferred amount does not correspond to the amount due, Cardinal Milano may cancel the order and release the reserved product.

Any bank charges applied by the client’s bank, an intermediary bank or the receiving bank are borne by the client. Cardinal Milano must receive the full amount stated in the order confirmation.

Currency

All orders are completed and charged in euros (EUR).

Prices may be displayed in another currency while browsing the website for informational purposes. However, the checkout is converted to and completed in euros, and the final amount due is shown in EUR before the client places the order.

If the client’s card or bank account is denominated in another currency, the card issuer, bank or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate and fees. These exchange rates and charges are determined by the relevant financial institution and are outside Cardinal Milano’s control.

Prices, Duties and Taxes

For every destination available in the shipping-country selector at checkout, the final order price includes the duties and taxes that Cardinal Milano is responsible for paying in connection with delivery.

The amount shown in the final checkout summary is the amount charged by Cardinal Milano. No additional customs duties, import taxes or routine clearance charges should be requested from the client upon delivery, provided that the client supplies any information or documents required for customs clearance and cooperates with the courier and the competent authorities.

Cardinal Milano delivers only to the countries available in the shipping-country selector at checkout.

Customs Clearance and Client Cooperation

For deliveries to certain countries, customs authorities or the appointed courier may require additional personal or fiscal information from the recipient in order to complete import customs clearance.

Depending on the destination, this information may include a national identification number, tax identification number, copy of an identity document, proof of address, proof of purchase or other information required by local law or the competent authorities.

DHL or another appointed courier may contact the recipient directly by telephone, email, text message or another authorised communication channel. The client is responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely information and for cooperating with the courier and the competent customs authorities.

Cardinal Milano cannot provide information, documents or confirmations on the client’s behalf where local law requires them to be supplied personally by the recipient or importer.

If the client does not provide the required information, does not respond to reasonable contact attempts, supplies incomplete or inaccurate information, or otherwise fails to cooperate with the customs-clearance procedure, the shipment may be delayed, held by customs, refused entry, returned to Cardinal Milano or otherwise handled in accordance with the instructions of the competent authorities and the courier.

Orders Returned Because Customs Clearance Could Not Be Completed

If an order is returned to Cardinal Milano because the recipient failed to provide the information or cooperation required for customs clearance, the refund will be processed only after the product has been received and inspected.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the refund will be reduced by the actual and non-recoverable costs incurred as a result of the failed delivery. These may include:

  • the original shipping cost;
  • the return shipping cost;
  • storage, customs-clearance, brokerage and administrative charges;
  • customs duties, import taxes and other charges already paid by Cardinal Milano and not recoverable.

These deductions do not constitute a penalty. They are limited to the actual and non-recoverable costs incurred in connection with the shipment and its return. Cardinal Milano will provide the client with a summary of the deductions applied.

No such deductions will apply where the return results from an error attributable to Cardinal Milano or from a damaged, defective or non-conforming product. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Payment Confirmation and Order Acceptance

An automatic order acknowledgement does not necessarily constitute final acceptance of the order.

The order is accepted when Cardinal Milano confirms it after completing the relevant payment, availability, security and compliance checks.

If an order cannot be accepted, Cardinal Milano will inform the client and refund any amount already collected using the original payment method, subject to the processing times of the bank, card issuer or payment provider.

Refund Currency

Refunds are issued in euros using the original payment method, unless another method is expressly agreed and permitted by applicable law.

If the client’s account or card is denominated in another currency, the amount ultimately credited may differ from the original local-currency equivalent because of exchange-rate movements or fees applied by the client’s bank or payment provider. Cardinal Milano does not control or reimburse such exchange-rate differences or external financial charges, except where required by law.

Payment Security

Card and digital-wallet payments are processed through authorised payment-service providers using their security and authentication systems.

Cardinal Milano does not store the complete payment-card details entered during checkout.

The client may be required to complete additional authentication, such as 3D Secure or another verification procedure required by the card issuer or payment provider.
