Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This website is operated by Cardinalno Srl, trading as Cardinal Milano (“Cardinal Milano”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to cardinalmilano.com and purchases made through the website.

By using the website or placing an order, the user or customer (“Client”, “you” or “your”) agrees to these Terms and to the policies referred to in them, including our Shipping Information, Payments, Taxes & Duties, Returns & Refunds, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Please read these Terms before using the website or placing an order. Mandatory rights granted to consumers by applicable law remain unaffected and prevail over any conflicting provision of these Terms.

1. Seller Information

The seller is:

Cardinalno Srl, trading as Cardinal Milano
Viale E. Jenner, 31
20159 Milan, Italy
VAT number: 08742650966
REA Milano: 2045857
General enquiries: info@cardinalmilano.com
Customer Care: customercare@cardinalmilano.com

2. Eligibility and Final Customers

The website is intended for individuals purchasing products for personal use and not for resale or other professional or commercial purposes (“Final Customers”).

To place an order, the Client must:

  • be at least 18 years old or otherwise legally able to enter into a binding contract;
  • provide complete, current and accurate billing, shipping and contact information;
  • use a valid payment method accepted at checkout;
  • comply with all laws applicable to the purchase, possession, import and use of the product.

Cardinal Milano may refuse or cancel orders that appear to be intended for resale, involve suspected fraud, breach these Terms, exceed reasonable personal-use quantities or cannot lawfully be processed.

3. Products, Images and Materials

Cardinal Milano makes reasonable efforts to describe and display products accurately. Colours, finishes, textures and proportions may appear different depending on the screen, browser, lighting and device used by the Client.

Leather, exotic skins, silk and other natural materials may display variations in grain, colour, markings and texture. These characteristics are inherent to natural materials and are not in themselves defects.

Product measurements are approximate. Packaging, minor construction details and presentation may be updated without materially altering the essential characteristics of the product.

4. Product Availability

Products and availability shown on the website are subject to confirmation. Adding a product to the basket does not reserve it.

After an order is placed, Cardinal Milano may verify availability, payment, Client information, destination restrictions and compliance requirements. If a product is unavailable or an order cannot be accepted, Cardinal Milano will inform the Client and refund any amount already collected.

Made-to-Order products are produced after the order has been accepted. Their production time is stated before purchase and is generally approximately 10 weeks, unless a different period is expressly indicated.

5. Prices and Currency

Product prices may change at any time before an order is placed. The price applicable to an order is the price shown in the final checkout summary when the Client submits the order.

All orders are completed and charged in euros (EUR). Prices displayed in another currency while browsing are indicative only. Before the order is submitted, checkout is converted to euros and the final amount due is displayed in EUR.

If the Client’s card or bank account is denominated in another currency, their bank, card issuer or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate and charges. Cardinal Milano does not control those rates or external charges.

6. Duties and Taxes Included

Cardinal Milano delivers only to destinations available in the shipping-country selector at checkout.

For every accepted destination, the final price includes the duties and taxes that Cardinal Milano is responsible for paying in connection with the delivery. Subject to the Client’s cooperation with customs-clearance requirements, no additional customs duties, import taxes or routine clearance charges should be requested from the Client upon delivery.

The Client remains responsible for providing any personal, fiscal or identification information required by the courier or competent authorities to complete customs clearance.

7. Payment Methods

The payment methods currently accepted are:

  • Visa;
  • Mastercard;
  • American Express;
  • Apple Pay, when technically available;
  • Google Pay, when technically available;
  • bank transfer.

The methods actually available to a Client are those displayed at checkout. PayPal is not accepted.

For card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments, the full order amount is charged when the order is placed at checkout. The Client may be required to complete 3D Secure or another authentication procedure.

Payments are processed through authorised payment-service providers. Cardinal Milano does not store the complete payment-card details entered at checkout.

8. Bank Transfer

When bank transfer is selected, the Client must send evidence of the completed transfer to customercare@cardinalmilano.com within 48 hours of placing the order.

The payment reference must include the order number and the Client’s name. The order remains pending until the funds have been credited and verified. Dispatch takes place only after payment has been received and the order has been confirmed.

If evidence of payment is not received within 48 hours, the amount received is incomplete, or the transfer cannot be identified, Cardinal Milano may cancel the order and release the reserved product.

All bank and intermediary charges are borne by the Client. Cardinal Milano must receive the full amount shown in the order confirmation.

9. Formation and Acceptance of the Contract

The Client places an order by completing checkout and selecting the button that confirms the obligation to pay.

An automatic acknowledgement confirms only that the order has been received; it does not necessarily constitute acceptance. The sales contract is concluded when Cardinal Milano expressly confirms the order after completing the relevant availability, payment, security and compliance checks.

Cardinal Milano may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance where, for example, the product is unavailable, payment cannot be verified, the destination is not supported, the Client information is incomplete or inaccurate, there is a pricing or technical error, or the order raises fraud, sanctions, customs or legal concerns.

If an order cannot be accepted after payment has been collected, the amount will be refunded through the original payment method.

10. Order Changes and Cancellations

Once an order has been submitted, changes to products, colours, addresses or payment details are not guaranteed. The Client should contact Customer Care immediately, but Cardinal Milano may be unable to modify or stop an order that has already entered processing.

Made-to-Order and CITES-related cancellation rules are set out in the relevant sections below.

11. Shipping and Delivery

Orders are shipped to the address supplied by the Client and only to countries available at checkout. Delivery estimates are indicative and may be affected by destination, customs formalities, CITES procedures, courier operations, public holidays and events beyond Cardinal Milano’s reasonable control.

The Client must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, telephone number and email address and must be available to receive communications from the courier.

Risk of loss or damage passes to a consumer when the Client, or a third party designated by the Client other than the carrier, physically receives the product, without prejudice to mandatory law.

12. Customs Clearance and Client Cooperation

For certain destinations, customs authorities or the appointed courier may require additional personal or fiscal information from the recipient. This may include a national identification number, tax number, copy of an identity document, proof of address, proof of purchase or other information required by local law.

DHL or another appointed courier may contact the recipient by telephone, email, text message or another authorised channel. The Client must provide complete, accurate and timely information and cooperate with the courier and competent authorities.

Cardinal Milano cannot provide information or confirmations on the Client’s behalf when local law requires the recipient or importer to provide them personally.

If the Client fails to provide the required information, does not respond to reasonable contact attempts, provides inaccurate information or otherwise fails to cooperate, the shipment may be delayed, held, refused entry, returned, abandoned or otherwise handled in accordance with the instructions of the courier and competent authorities.

13. Failed Delivery and Return to Sender

If delivery fails because of an inaccurate or incomplete address, the Client’s absence, refusal of delivery, failure to collect the parcel, failure to provide customs-clearance information or another circumstance attributable to the Client, the shipment may be returned to Cardinal Milano.

Any refund will be processed after the product has been received and inspected. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Cardinal Milano may deduct the actual and non-recoverable costs caused by the failed delivery, including:

  • the original shipping cost;
  • the return shipping cost;
  • storage, customs-clearance, brokerage and administrative charges;
  • duties, import taxes and other charges already paid by Cardinal Milano and not recoverable.

These deductions are not a penalty and are limited to the actual non-recoverable costs incurred. They do not apply where the failed delivery results from an error attributable to Cardinal Milano or from a damaged, defective or non-conforming product.

14. Right of Withdrawal and Standard Returns

Where applicable law grants a consumer a right of withdrawal, the Client may withdraw within 14 calendar days of receiving an eligible product, without giving a reason.

The Client must communicate the decision clearly to Customer Care before the deadline and follow the return instructions. After communicating withdrawal, the product must be sent back without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law.

The Client bears the direct return shipping cost when lawfully informed of that cost before purchase. The product must be returned unused, unworn, complete and with all original tags, protective materials, packaging, dust bag, accessories and documents.

The Client is liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the product’s nature, characteristics and functioning, where permitted by law.

Cardinal Milano does not offer direct exchanges. A Client wishing to purchase a different model, colour or material must return the eligible original product and place a new, separate order.

The complete procedure and conditions are set out in the Returns & Refunds policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

15. Refunds and Non-EU Return Deductions

Refunds are normally processed after receipt and inspection of the product, using the original payment method and in euros, within the mandatory time limits under applicable law.

Where European Union withdrawal rules apply, Cardinal Milano reimburses the payments required by law, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered if such delivery cost was paid by the Client. Cardinal Milano may withhold reimbursement until it has received the goods or valid evidence of dispatch, whichever occurs first.

For voluntary returns from outside the European Union, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, the refund may be reduced by actual and non-recoverable duties, import taxes, outbound shipping costs, return shipping costs and related customs or administrative charges.

If the original delivery was described as complimentary or free, the actual outbound logistics cost may still be deducted from a non-EU voluntary return where permitted by applicable law.

No such deductions apply to a return caused by a defect, damage or non-conformity attributable to Cardinal Milano.

16. Made-to-Order Products

Made-to-Order products are produced on request according to the configuration or specifications selected by the Client.

Where a product is made to the Client’s specifications or is clearly personalised, it is excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal to the extent provided by applicable law. Once production has started, the order cannot be voluntarily cancelled, returned or exchanged.

This does not affect mandatory rights relating to damaged, defective or non-conforming goods.

17. Exotic Leather Products and CITES

Some exotic leather products require permits or certificates under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (“CITES”) and related national or regional rules.

Cardinal Milano arranges the documentation within its responsibility for the original export and delivery. The Client must provide any information required for the import procedure and cooperate with the courier and competent authorities.

After a CITES-regulated product has been imported into the destination country, any return to Italy may constitute an export or re-export and may require permits or certificates issued by the competent authority in the country where the product is located, as well as authorisation for re-entry into the European Union.

For a voluntary return, the Client is responsible, at their own expense, for obtaining the required export or re-export documentation. The product must not be shipped without Cardinal Milano’s prior written authorisation and without all required CITES and customs documents.

If the required authorisations cannot be obtained, the product cannot lawfully be returned. Unauthorised or undocumented shipments may be refused, detained or seized by the competent authorities.

Where permitted by applicable law, an order may no longer be voluntarily cancelled once Cardinal Milano has submitted the application for the CITES documentation specifically required for its export and delivery.

Exotic leather products that do not require CITES documentation may be returned under the standard return conditions. Mandatory consumer rights and rights relating to damaged, defective or non-conforming products remain unaffected.

18. Defective, Damaged or Non-Conforming Products

The Client must contact Customer Care as soon as possible if a product arrives damaged, is defective or does not correspond to the order, providing the order number and clear photographs of the issue.

The product must not be shipped before return instructions have been provided.

Where the issue is attributable to Cardinal Milano, no deduction will be made for duties, taxes, original shipping or return shipping, and Cardinal Milano will bear the costs required by applicable law.

These rights are separate from voluntary returns and do not limit any mandatory legal guarantee or other consumer remedy.

19. Intellectual Property

The website, the Cardinal Milano name and trademark, product designs, text, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, software, code and all other content are owned by or licensed to Cardinalno Srl and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

No content may be reproduced, modified, distributed, republished, scraped, commercially exploited or used to train, market or promote third-party products without prior written permission, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

20. Permitted and Prohibited Use

The website may be used only for lawful personal shopping and information purposes.

Users must not:

  • use the website for unlawful, fraudulent or unauthorised purposes;
  • submit false, misleading or third-party information without authority;
  • introduce malicious code or interfere with website security or operation;
  • collect personal data unlawfully;
  • circumvent technical restrictions, payment controls or access protections;
  • use automated systems to overload, copy or exploit the website unlawfully.

Cardinal Milano may suspend access or cancel orders connected with prohibited conduct.

21. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may rely on or link to third-party services, including payment providers, couriers, customs agents, analytics providers and external websites.

Cardinal Milano is not responsible for third-party content or conduct outside its reasonable control. The use of third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy notices.

22. Personal Data

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Cardinal Milano Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Information necessary for payment, fraud prevention, delivery, customs clearance, CITES compliance and legal obligations may be shared with authorised payment providers, couriers, customs agents, public authorities and other parties where necessary and lawful.

23. Website Availability and Liability

Cardinal Milano seeks to keep the website accurate, secure and available but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, technical failures, cyber incidents or events outside reasonable control may temporarily affect the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to the previous paragraph and to the extent permitted by law, Cardinal Milano is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was concluded, nor for losses arising from the Client’s unlawful use, inaccurate information, failure to cooperate with authorities or breach of these Terms.

24. Force Majeure

Cardinal Milano is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil disturbance, epidemics, strikes, transport disruption, customs action, government restrictions, sanctions, cyber incidents, power or network failures, or interruption of suppliers and couriers.

Cardinal Milano will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect of such events and will inform affected Clients when appropriate.

25. Complaints and Alternative Dispute Resolution

Complaints should first be submitted to customercare@cardinalmilano.com, including the order number and a clear description of the issue.

Where applicable, a consumer may have access to a competent alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”) body under the rules of their country of residence. Cardinal Milano will provide information required by applicable law and will participate in an ADR procedure where legally required or expressly agreed.

The former European Union Online Dispute Resolution platform is no longer available.

26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and contracts concluded through the website are governed by Italian law, without depriving consumers of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence where such provisions apply.

For consumers, jurisdiction is determined by mandatory applicable consumer law. For Clients acting outside the scope of mandatory consumer protection, the courts of Milan, Italy, shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

27. Severability and No Waiver

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be applied to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

A failure or delay by Cardinal Milano to enforce a right does not constitute a waiver of that right.

28. Changes to These Terms

Cardinal Milano may update these Terms by publishing a revised version on this page. The Terms applicable to an order are those available when the order is placed, except where a change is required by law or benefits the Client.

The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.

29. Contact

Questions concerning these Terms may be sent to info@cardinalmilano.com. Order, payment, shipping and return enquiries should be sent to customercare@cardinalmilano.com.
